Career / Internship Program
Lao Law and Consultancy welcomes applications from professionals who seek training in building their career and experience in an internationally-focused Lao/English-speaking local law firm. LLC has been recruiting local and foreign professionals to be part of our growing team.
At LLC, we understand the consequences of the increasing international nature of the legal system in Laos. Accordingly, LLC has strategically combined talented local and foreign lawyers and consultants to provide strong support and diverse experiences to the team. This helps our colleagues to better appreciate the local legal framework and to deliver superior legal services to our domestic and foreign clients.
We strive to be the standard of investment consultancy and legal services in Laos by providing first-rate services, and are committed to being beneficial to society, while employing a well-paid and accomplished workforce to be the backbone of Lao Law and Consultancy Group.
Lao Law and Consultancy is keen to help young lawyers have experience of the practice of law. In addition to being a participant in the Internship Scholarship Program of the University of New South Wales, LLC welcomes applications from young lawyers in training or just qualified, from within Laos or abroad, to spend a 3- 12 month internship with the firm in Vientiane Capital, Lao PDR.
An intern will be involved in the busy professional environment of an internationally-focused Lao/English-speaking law firm in a country where the law is developing fast as the country also develops; will gain experience of working with Lao staff and internal advisers who variously have experience in Europe, Australia, Asia, the USA, Japan and China; and will work in a setting where finding out how law is practiced is just as important as knowing what the law says. If non-Lao, Interns need to have working English in addition to their own language.
LLC will, as necessary, help find basic living accommodation and provide a basic living allowance; will support Interns from abroad in gaining a 3-12 month work permit and working ID card as appropriate: and will introduce non-Lao Interns to the Lao way of life.
In preparing to come to Laos from abroad Interns will need to look after their own travel arrangements, medical insurance, and provide evidence of their degree studies, the stage to which their professional studies have advanced and, where available, evidence that they have no convictions of the courts in their home territory. Round Trip Airfares and medical insurance will be provided for the internship of more than 10 months.
In addition, Interns are advised to gain as much knowledge as they can about Laos and its customs and to be aware that its dress codes are traditional and slightly formal.
Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org headed INTERNSHIP, letting us know of your interest, together with a CV and letter from the University and when you would be available to come to LLC and the duration of internship.
We will answer you as soon as we can.
